It's all in the name.
As the name would suggest, rather than focusing on the problem, solution focused hypnotherapy encourages people to focus on positive changes in their life.

Many therapeutic techniques focus on difficult or traumatic events that have happened in the past as a way of trying to analyse why you are feeling or behaving the way that you are. Although this can be helpful to some, others may feel the benefits from a different approach.

Solution focused hypnotherapy incorporates psychological techniques such as Neuro-linguistic Programming (NLP), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), alongside hypnosis, to focus your mind on your preferred future and create positive change. The role of the therapist is not to tell you what to do but to encourage you to identify your own achievable goals, empowering you to resolve your issues by focusing on how you want your life to be. As a result, people usually leave a solution focused hypnotherapy session feeling hopeful and positive about the changes they are going to make.
